At times it may take a little bit of time to find some solutions, but by working in partnership with our clients, suppliers and colleagues we generally always do!
We have clients who have achieved 0% waste to landfill through working in partnership with us, and we always target 0% waste to Landfill form the start as a minimum.
We actually won't deal with your waste if we cannot find a landfill avoiding solution. However, we will never stop trying to find the solution. We actually don't have a client whose waste we have sent to Landfill and we will want to keep it that way!

Waste to Energy
We are able to harness energy from various waste streams possessing a calorific value, where the chemical energy of the waste is transformed into thermal energy, through its degradation or destruction. Pioneering Waste to Energy plants have been engineered and developed to capture this energy and convert it into electrical energy, which is supplied to the National Grid.
This makes a valuable contribution to the reduction in use of fossil fuels for generating electricity. Y2BE offer this option to producers of suitable materials.

Previously there had always been the issue of metal, paint and other contamination, but we can process all of that through individual sites, at a cost that could save you substantial amounts of money, whilst avoiding landfill.
Waste is processed through an advanced composting operation where special attention is paid to pre-blending the inbound material, maximising the effectiveness of a selected colony of aerobic bacteria specialising in the bio-decomposition of wood based products.

WEEE
Waste management has become a key issue in the UK and Ireland and the onus is now on the waste producer to correctly identify and dispose of their waste within the boundaries of current legislation. For high volume waste producers where space is at a premium Y2BE can supply both static and portable
compactors.
Static compactors are installed at your site and a suitable waste container is then attached, into
which the compacted waste is pushed.
Once full, the bin is removed from the compactor unit and taken away for the contents to be either
reprocessed or landfilled. We can organise competitive rates for the supply and transport and disposal
of the waste in these containers.
Portable compactors consist of a specially engineered skip that has self contained compactor built in.
The whole unit is taken away from site then emptied and returned.
These compactors can be made fully liquid retentive which makes them ideal for the food industry.

Composting
Composting is a process that presents significant opportunities for treating and recycling suitable industrial and
organic liquid waste streams, in combination with 'green' waste from gardens and other producers.
Y2BE selects this route only after detailed investigation resulting in a full understanding of the
waste stream.
Y2BE routes suitable wastes through the composting process, where dry and liquid materials are mixed
and turned regularly, in windrows, at elevated temperatures, killing the pathogens and biodegrading the
organic components to produce an odour-free, fibrous soil conditioning compost.
There are many composting sites across the UK and as well as avoiding sending your waste to landfill
there are significant cost savings to be made.

Incineration
Hazardous waste incinerators operate at temperatures in excess of 1,000 degrees Celsius, ensuring complete
destruction of your wastes. Gases from the waste combustion pass through a scrubber system to prevent the
release of any harmful gaseous emissions to atmosphere, and residual ash is either landfilled or treated
via consolidation prior to landfill.
Y2BE offers the incineration disposal route for a vast range of waste-streams (usually materials with a
high potential for a negative environmental impact), which are unable to be treated, recovered, recycled,
landfilled or disposed of by any other method currently available.
